I have always been interested in the latest inventions. I think this started with stories about my grandfather. He was a man that loved to have fun. He played the violin for barn dances, drank too much and left the chore of raising ten children to my grandmother. I love to listen to stories about him.

Many of them include him trying to make his fortune with the latest inventions. He was so interested in the latest inventions and discoveries that he went to the worlds fair. Now this was during a time when money was very tight and he was suppose to be making a living farming. I still have the view master that he brought home for his children. The view master passed on to me from my dad, he told me it almost did not survive one of my grandmother’s fits of anger at my grandfather. Grandfather’s interests included marketing the latest inventions as well as trying to come up with one of his own. He never developed his own invention and I think he gave away more products than he ever sold. The key though was in keeping the focus on the next big thing.

How about EBAY Or do you think you could market something to 72 million 20 somethings? I hear you say, of course! Anyone could sell to the late teen and early twenty market if the marketing costs we're so high. So how about MYSPACE? This little phenomenon is now the number one web site on the Internet with the great majority of those part of the 20 something group. Get an account (it's free) and start marketing to these people!

I wish my grandfather could have lived to see the ease of checking out the latest inventions on the Internet. He would have been amazed to be able to see how all the latest inventions work and to see how they were developed. At first I thought that he would have loved marketing the latest inventions on the Internet, but then I remembered his love of interacting with people. He would have missed the face to face contact of showing people how the latest inventions work.

I love going on the various web sites and looking at all of the latest inventions. There is also a great deal of information on how to turn your own ideas into one of the latest inventions. There have been many times when my husband will say "someone should invent this or that", now I tell him that he should be the one to come up with the latest inventions. There are information kits available that help you learn how to turn your ideas into products and how to register you ideas. There are also online stores available so that you can sell your latest inventions without having to convince a local retailer to place it on their shelves.

It is amazing the wonderful ideas that people have to create different and new products. Some of the ideas are to improve existing products and others are new products. The creativity of mankind is endless. There have been countless times when I will see the latest inventions and discoveries thinking why didn't I come up with that
